I’d grown to accept the fact that I had a massive attraction to someone who might not be capable of liking me in return. When I started eating up those little smiles at Pins and those little secrets we shared… I have no idea either. When exactly I’d started looking forward to spending time with him, I had no idea. And here? It’s unmistakable to me that Mariana Zapata was someone I was destined to find right when I needed a push for happiness in my life. Yes-I have posted only two other reviews previously for said author, but like with your love life-if you know, you know. That moment when you know an author has changed your life forever….it’s this one. Everything else… is seasonal, as Ma would say.” He pressed his mouth to my temple, whispering, “Then there’s you.” There’s only a few things I’ve ever given a shit about. “But you don’t gotta worry about anything. He’s rude, impatient and doesn’t know how to tell time.Īnd the last thing they ever expected was each other.īut it was either the strip club or the tattoo shop. Except Dex Locke might just be the biggest jerk she’s ever met. even if the business is owned by a member of the same motorcycle club her estranged father used to belong to. It is sprinkled with humor, love, and more than a dash of magic. The finished King Arthurs and Her Knights series is based on Arthurian legends and lore. But what future can they have in a world that only sees them as monarch and confidant?ĭon’t miss this collection of the first three stories in the bestselling King Arthur and Her Knights series plus exclusive bonus content not available anywhere else. Focused on his goal to unite Britain, he’s oblivious of Britt’s growing feelings for him. The kingdom is fragmented, with enemies on all sides, and there’s little chance for mercy if Britt’s real identity and gender is exposed. He has some bad news: the real Arthur has disappeared, and the sword in the stone has chosen Britt to take his place.īut life in ancient Britain isn’t safe. But history has other plans.Ī magical summons back through time lands Britt into the schemes of the surprisingly young and handsome wizard Merlin. In a place and time not her own, one woman must risk everything to protect her life, her kingdom, and her heart.īritt doesn’t want to be a leader, and she definitely doesn’t want to pretend she is the legendary King Arthur. Proving to be hugely versatile in her style, she’s incredibly adept at adapting to different writing styles and genres.Ĭreating solid and lasting characters too, she introduces protagonists who really make a powerful impact upon the page. Writing under a series of different pen-names as well, she produces work for a variety of different audiences and readers. Moving to America and living in Colorado with her husband, she publishes work that is appreciated both nationally and internationally. Setting herself apart from other contemporary novelists working within her field, she provides countless surprises with all her twists and turns. This unique approach has proven to be successful, reaching readers from all over the world far and wide with her work. Pushing the boundaries of the format, she makes the tropes her own, taking them in new and interesting directions. Gifted with words, she has managed to turn the genre on its head, really making it her own in the process and creating something quite different. Hoyt is exceptionally well regarded for her unique brand of science-fiction and fantasy novel. After her and her friends meet up with a group of guys, one of them being her ex whose nose she broke after he grabbed her arse, Ed, they all end up at this dodgy party where it’s decided that Ed and Lucy will go off to keep looking for this artist Shadow. Lucy spends most of this night trying to find a young Graffiti artist called Shadow who leaves magnificent art all around the city. Graffiti Moon follows Lucy as she and two of her friends go out to celebrate the last day of year 12 by spending it out all night. So when I tried again to read it I found that I actually loved the story, characters and it wasn’t hard to get into. When I first started reading Graffiti Moon I only got 41 pages in before I couldn’t take anymore and set it aside, I couldn’t get into the story and had issues connecting with the characters, I now realise that I was in a deep reading slump and any book I picked up I would of said the same for. but, you know, now it’s a complicated marshmallow.” After it explodes it’s still a marshmallow. “I guess love’s kind of like a marshmallow in a microwave on high. The main characters are introduced: three conspiratorial American MIAs who have chosen to remain missing after the Vietnam War in their refuge of Villa Incognito in the highlands of Laos. Once past the first part of the book, the real plot line emerges and there is a profound shift in literary paradigm. In case you’re wondering, yes they do in fact have extra large scrotums taking up a third of their bodies. This mythical animal is reputed to be mischievous and jolly, a master of disguise, but somewhat gullible and absent-minded. This particular one is promiscuous, getting Asian girls pregnant. The first 40 pages are rambles about a creature called a Tanuki, a naughty dog (Nyctereutes procyonoides), a canine species native to Japan. In a sense, the beginning intentionally misleads the reader about the theme of the book. If you are a Robbins novice, you will be caught off guard in his fantasy world of odd animal/human sexual escapades and unconventional adventures. This opening line is not shocking considering it was written by author Tom Robbins, the American scribe whose writing can be described as complex and uninhibited. That is not so ridiculous when we take into account the unusual size of Tanuki’s scrotum, reads the opening paragraph of the novel “Villa Incognito. “It has been reported that Tanuki fell from the sky using his scrotum as a parachute. Author takes the reader on twisted trips of bizarre imagination, with a hidden political undertone. I am still holding out for “Scottish Charming”. I love a good amount of tension and sex but these characters on top of that are forever engrained in my mind. As I embark on the last story, a short Yuletide yarn I am sad it’s over but so happy I found this series. But honestly I am already missing the clan already. I stumbled upon Jennifer Ashley by accident and Angela Dawes I’ve liked before. I know it’s a story but the characters will become so familiar for you too. I know, what men could all be the “ bad boys gone good” but that is what we want right? I e been duped by the slick tongued and those who easily lie, so the Makenzies and McBrides are the hope I have always had. I have left series to return and have not but not this series! As angry as I am that it is over, I am so warm and content. I did alternate with other books as I got deeper into the series to not burn out and it didn’t even matter. Author and narrator for ALL of the series. Sadly I am a European mutt with no Scottish ties except visiting is on my bucket list. I am an addicted audible girl especially Scottish romances. As I said above I have never left a review, and honestly I do depend on them to choose books. Her unique background means that she can often work as a sort of bridge between the Amish and non-Amish (aka “English”) communities, as she is familiar with the Amish culture and also speaks Pennsylvania Dutch. Through a series of life events, she joined law enforcement, and a decade or so after she left, finds herself back in Painters Mill. Kate was born and raised Amish, but left the community at the age of 18. It’s been a while since I just sat down and immersed myself in a series (especially a mystery series), but I am so glad that I did that with these books! I really enjoyed these mysteries a lot, and I’m excited because it appears that Castillo is still adding to the series, with #11 scheduled for publication this summer. As these novels are designed to be consumed all their own, many series fans have only read this collection of novels that have inspired the Outlander series as we know it.īut Gabaldon has released additional shorter novels and novellas outside this collection, which diehard fans will likely wish to consume as well. Canonically, however, there is a collection of main novels featuring series' mainstays Jamie and Claire Fraser - nine in total. If you're a fan of the Starz show but have yet to pick up any of the Outlander books, you may be surprised to hear there are more than a dozen published pieces that make up the world of the sci-fi-turned historical fiction tale. Gabaldon confirmed earlier this year that's she's getting to work on the tenth, likely final, installment in the book's main series. There's never been a better time to dive into the vast literary universe that makes up the Outlander series, either. Outlander fans have had a lot to celebrate recently – the return of the fantastical romance tale in its sixth season on Starz, a brand new storyline out of series author Diana Gabaldon's newest tale, Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone, and news that a new prequel series is on its way.
